Let me share with you my impression during the Celebration of Learning of the Bicol Moocer.
Have you taken several attempts to answer the Quiz at the end of each module?
Sounds familiar! We have all been down that road called RETAKE.
MOOC is something unusual to me at first. My knowledge was somewhat minute regarding what MOOC is all about. Upon attending a very informative orientation, I gained much clarity about the course’s foundation and goals.
MOOC stands for Massive Open Online Course, and one of the most intriguing parts that caught my attention was the word ‘Massive.’ It was at this point that I realized I would be networking with people from all over the world.
The program demanded a high level of professionalism, which required the participants to be prompt, prepared, and on time. I value how the program positioned us to learn from each other and receive constructive criticisms. The entire experience was beyond compare.
From the learnings I got, I was able to share MOOC with my colleagues, and I was able to share the Content-Based Instruction to them. I was fascinated by the content of the course, and I was able to apply it in my daily work practice. It equipped me with vital knowledge to help my students learn the content better using the language that they are still learning. I understand their struggles, and now I can make learning easy for them because I am a MOOCER.
Our greetings and thanks to Matt Gleason, and other representatives from Regional English Language Office- Manila, Mother MOOC in Bicol, Jeanny Nagrampa, and the MOOC Camp Facilitators from Camarines Sur – Jeric Negre, Ma.Gracia Raquiza, Francia Despacito Duran, Joyce Hontiveros, Ritchel Murillo, and Arietta Mae Llegado. I am also thankful to our SDS, Loida Nidea, ASDS Susan Collano, and of course, with us all over the MOOC scheduled from February 11, 2019, to March 09, 2019, Preciosa Dela Vega, our Education Program Supervisor. Thanks to the American English E-Teacher Program sponsored by the U.S Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, and FHI 360, which administered the course.
MOOC is an extremely wonderful experience that leads to more opportunities for growth and development in the teaching profession. Receiving the certificate and badge is an honor I am blessed to have. If I could give a one-word description of MOOC, it is enlightening.
